Your IQ

So is there a genius among us?

Personally I have a shameful level 110 IQ

So if you know your IQ what is it?

Mine is over 9,000. I'm sure someone will come posting he's got an IQ of 250 because a facebook application says so.

Mine is 128, took a test 2 years ago. Not really that high, I don't know a lot of things.

That's the upper end of normal, not shameful.

Assuming, of course, that its the result of an actual, proper IQ test done by a professional. Otherwise its probably worth around as much as the hole in my sock ;).

it was in the 130s. i took it years ago when i was just out of my first year in college. i just started going back to school last year so i might take it again after i catch up with all the math i have forgotten over the last 15 years. :sadvaultboy: its a really tedious and boring test though. it also takes a good chunk of time. im assuming were talking about a real IQ test and not those 20 question tests you see all over the interwebz.

as for you score you above average so nothing to be shameful about...........unless everyone in your family including the dogs is higher.

Shortly after high school I took one, scored 142. That was over a decade ago though, and I haven't kept up with my knowledge nearly as much as I should, so I imagine it's a bit lower by now. Hopefully hasn't dropped to much, as one of the reasons for my intelligence was that I've always been a very avid reader, and I still am. I read upwards of 200 books a year, of all different types, and I do especially love technical fiction books(Books with good storylines but rely on lots and lots of research for the technical knowledge of the subject being wrote about).

I've pretty much maintained 135 - 150 most of the time I took IQ tests throughout elementary/high school and college. Haven't taken one for quite a while though, and I don't really invest much stock (actually, more like absolutely none) in them as a determinant of intelligence.

when I got it checked around 5 years ago, I know it was in the 140's. The fact that I can't remember the exact number after only 5 years tells me it probably dropped since then.

Hey now, my score came from successfully clicking on the slowly moving, flashing piggy in a banner ad, not from some silly facebook application!

It was 40,000 by the way.

...But yeah, I've never taken a real IQ test and really don't care to. If it was high it would serve no purpose other than to boost my ego, and if it was low it would just lower my self-confidence. I don't see the point in it.

So what's an IQ based on? Knowledge and how well you use it on the test, with a few other things? I thought knowledge and intelligence were two separate things.

I read upwards of 200 books a year

 That's a lot. I remember hearing from somewhere that most Americans don't even read one book a year.

Unless it IS a proper test done by a professional...in which case it's worth as much as a hole in a really nice sock.

Although not quite as effective as an Al Bundy sock.

137 according to a Norwegian test I took. I tend to get a little under 130 on English tests.

I usually get a snarky sort of enjoyment out of dissecting posts by people claiming they have an abnormally high IQ, but I'll refrain tonight on the basis that I don't have all night for one thread. :P

Anyway I'll decline whipping out my e-peen and waving it around tonight, but I thank you for the offer. ;)

I'm hungry. Share please. My IQ is 150.

EDIT: But my test was not official, so I'd estimate a about...1?

Too insecure about yourself that you finally resorted to referring to IQ eh?

I'll let Reneer explain (assuming he does pop in here, and, more importantly, that he can be bothered :P).

Unless it IS a proper test done by a professional...in which case it's worth as much as a hole in a really nice sock.

Nah, that's worth as much as a whole sock. A pair of them if used as intended.

Oh, and their accuracy is inversely proportional to the score's closeness to the normal range.

When I had one taken a long time ago it was 120. I'm not very knowledgeable, but I'm pretty intelligent so I don't know if that IQ means squat.

REALLY weird thing though, I was just thinking about a thread like this before I came onto my computer and woah here it is! I can tell the future!

Given that I think the modern tests have a median of 100 and a sample standard deviation of 15, then it is interesting that the majority of people have posted insanely high IQs.
