OOO and MMM meshes or it's not an option. I plan to switch when those are done. Thanks for your work in any case.

Hehe, well I don't use OOO or MMM, so there's virtually no chance I'll ever do those conversions. But I put up the resources so anyone else is welcome to convert that stuff. ;) So grab the body blend file and get cracking. :D

...and I think I've had about 10 of those hours. In total. :(

One day... :P

We all dream of that day!

Bummed to see no love for http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1049541-relzwipz-tejons-thread-o-mods/ as yet... it's one of my favorites among my own work. nGCD, Progress, Willful Resistance, all the purely mechanical mods felt more like elaborate bug fixes: pumping out the rancid svck and shoring up the game's foundation, but not really adding any fresh awesome. B.E. was a more genuinely creative work, I think. :)

Anyway, I'm going to weigh in with the folks suggesting you take it slow to start... the Unofficial Patches are a necessity, and of course visual upgrades have no direct bearing on gameplay. But before you load up on the other toys, it's a good idea to have a solid feel for the core game. Not only will this later help you appreciate what a work of art OOO really is, but you'll also have a clearer idea about which bits of OOO you don't mind overwriting with other options. Understanding what each mod does in isolation can make a big difference to how many you can pile on top of each other without losing any of the features you really want!

(this list is in no specific order, but I am numbering it anyways)

1) Midas Magic: Spells of Aurum
2) L.A.M.E.
3) 3 Alternate Stories
4) Better Music System
5) Camp Simplicity (yeah, I might have a bit of an ego, but I am pretty proud of my own work)
6) Malevolent (not exactly as good as I thought, and I don't think Simyaz plans on finishing the series, but still fun)
7) ObGE
8) Deadly Reflex
9) and some others that I can't choose from

 Ah, you underestimate your "fixes"
Threads like these get very repetitive and long time players and users tend to skip over them so as not to repeat themselves too often.

I'd love to use it in my next game, but unfortunately the Integration quest by bg requires RBP which includes its own revised birthsigns. People are raving about that mod, and since my previous character makes an appearance in the game I've decided to add it to my list this time, despite my intense dislike for anime characters with the cartoony ayes.

So you know: I'm 90% certain that even with Integration in the mix, you can load B.E. after RBP to use my birthsigns with no issues. The only place the two mods actually conflict is in the birthsign definitions themselves, which are only used by the player selection menu -- all of the individual powers are unique to each mod, and if an Integration NPC is given some powers from RBP, they won't be removed or changed by B.E.

Of course, at some point (on that magical day when I spend more time playing than modding) I'll probably try a pure-RBP game with Integration myself... thoroughly different = massively replayable. :D

Not including *any* patches, utlities, updates, tweaks, OBSE plugins or the like (because even the whole 10 wouldn't cover all of those that I would 'need', let alone anything else!) --

FCOM (yes, I'm cheating here)
RBP
LAME
EVE
DarkUI'd DarN
QTP3
RAEVWD
UL (also here)
nGCD
Progress

Ouch. :( Don't much like limiting it to ten...

I endorse this move.

:P

I switched! And I'm thrilled :). I can safely say TGND is in my top ten "must haves". And OOO or not, you gave the option for hands and feet if we REALLY want to wear something that isn't converted. It's all good and I couldn't be happier :)

I've run--and still do run--a lot of mods. Over the years, quite a number have come and gone; still others address an area of the game that is negotiable, should a better come along. But these are the ones that have stood the test of time--the ones I can't ever imagine playing without. Quest mods are variable between characters, so I haven't touched on them at all ... but at least one deserves honorable mention (Kragenor's Death Quest adds npc dialog that enriches the game, makes me actually want to talk to npc's again!)

FCOM (incorporates several large mods, no way around it)
RBP - for character beautification and actual balance
LAME - for magick, and 'special' mage npc's that will make a believer out of you
Slof horses or MMM-Slof horses addon - because Oblivion horses so need help
nGCD - character leveling
Progress - leveling slowdown x 5, so that level 20 (or 30 or 40) really means something
Robert male body mod (Robert female also but to a lesser degree, tried many but settled here)
Blood and Mud - because it makes Bravil a real city with character
Elsweyr-Anequina - because Cyrodiil alone became claustrophobic; now that it has opened up Tamriel I can breathe again
The first ones were easy but this last slot is tough to choose just one - it would be a toss-up between several smaller but equally important mods. I can't decide which... (See You Sleep, Simple Essentials=tried but can't kick the habit of eating/drinking/sleeping , Animated Window Lighting System=I like a bunch, Tamriel Travellers=merchants and friends when you're in a tough spot, All Natural=Natural weather, Better music System...) Tell you what--gimme 15 top mods, and we're good.

For me, it'd be something like this;

1) - FCOM
2) - Armamentarium Complete
3) - Jog's Stealth Overhaul
4) - Item Interchange
5) - COBL
6) - CorePC's Vibrant Textures
7) - Race Balancing Project
8) - Bananasplit's Better Cities
9) - Alternative Start - Arrive By Ship
10) - Companion Share & Recruit

that said, there are so many smaller mods that I love that I have a hard time deciding if these are actually my favorites or if their just the ones I'm most constantly reminded of :P

In no particular order:

- Armamentarium Complete
- Supreme Magicka (or LAME, I tend to alternate between them)
- SM Plugin Refurbish
- Cyrodiil Travel Services
- Natural Weather (fixed version)
- Harvest Flora
- DarNified UI
- Dousing the Flames
- Bruma Mages Guild Restored
- Realistic Leveling

...all the purely mechanical mods felt more like elaborate bug fixes

But tthat's exactly what makes nGCD, Progress and Willful Resistance so valuable, for so many of us.

nGCD, Progress and Willful Resistance might have felt like uncreative works to you but mere words cannot express how essential they are to those of us who depend on them. I would not be playing Oblivion without your mods. They are that essential to me.

Your 'purely mechanical' mods have helped extend the shelf life of this game. I am able to experience the work of other talented modders because your 'bug fixes' allow me to play this game. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I would have given this game up in frustration long ago if it weren't for your 'bug fixes.'

But more to the point, I promise to try Birthsigns Expanded in my next game. ;)
