So my Vampire dealings have varied wildly from character to character. Some Vampires dont ever come near settlements or into towns , its like nothing is going on. Others its the Vampire appocolypse and rivers run red...metaphorically ofcourse .


So today on my lvl 53 Vampire thief i went into Whiterun about 11pm to use the smelter. All oblivion was cutting loose in there , bunches of towns people fighting a master vampire and two.thralls.


In the end Jon battleborn , Belethor , whoever had the keys to the chillfurrow farmhouse and wintersand manor "was a ashpile" , amren , ulfberth warbear , the female blacksmith " cant remember her name" , Nazeem "danced on his corpse" , and five guards were dead... and im like.... totally reconsidering my dont reload rule with some characters. lol.


to top it off one the thralls had gltched into the exit gate door to whiterun and a guard and i had a hell.of a time killing him through it while he shot us with arrows.


Im intrested in hearing your most memorable vampire moments. doesnt even have to be in a town . I got into it with some in a field near Rorickstead...had vampires , thralls a skeever and some wolves at the same time lol

Both of my best vampire stories are from Whiterun. The first is when I came through the gate at night but when townsfolk were still active. I don't remember the exact number and type of vampires I fought off, but the experience stood out to me because Nazeem of all people pitched in and lived to tell about it. I just found it amusing that such a reviled NPC made himself useful for once.

By far my craziest battle occurred when I couldn't have been over lvl 20, and got off the carriage to Whiterun in the early hours of the morning when everyone else was already indoors. When I walked through the gate, two master vampires and two or three thralls were helping themselves to the forge accompanied by two death hounds. It's a good thing I wasn't running a DiD character because I died multiple times trying to face the mob alone. I finally defeated them by sneaking and shooting an arrow towards the middle of town which brought the baddies into contact with a couple of guards when they went to investigate. This bought me a second to slip into Breezehome and recruit Lydia who helped turn the tide in my favor. I definitely breathed a sigh of relief when it was over.

On one play through I had similar results in Whiterun, that's when I downloaded Arthmoor's http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28235/? That was on the same play though that I walked out of The Sleeping Giant at level 5 and there was a master vampire there (I think that was a glitch), by the end of the fight I think the kids, the dog, one guard, and the blacksmith's wife were the only survivors. There were probably a few others, but Riverwood was pretty much empty after that.

Vampires still get people from time to time, but for the most part the NPCs are able to run away before it's too late.

Although yesterday I opened the gates (open city mod) to walk into Whiterun at night and saw 5 corpses right in front of me. I thought "Well the vampire killed a few guards and died". After looting the last one I realized they where all guards, looked up and there was master vampire in my face. Wasn't a very epic fight, Sophia hit him a few times with spells while I fumbled around with drawing weapons and dodging (this character purposely only has 100 health), I hit him a few times and that was it. After that decided to go to the inn to spend the night and on my way there found another 5 or 6 dead guards (I think some of my mods may have added more guards).

On 360 Adept ...lvl somewhere in the 30's.... Zyne and Marcurio were on their way from Fort Dawnguard to Riften, to sell off some loot then go home to Lakeview. They coming up on the ruined tower and three Mist Walkers decided to attack, a couple bandit's from the ruin decided to join, the some Frost Spiders.... With just the Bandit's left, a couple of wolves decided to join in... then a dragon. Right after the dragon was slain, a Master Vampire two thralls and 2 death hounds decided to appear.

It took 3 trips to get all the loot, which they needed to buy new potions to replace the ones that were used.
