Your TOP 10 Video Games of All Time

Post » Tue Sep 22, 2015 12:57 pm

My top 10 video games of all time list, with games from the same series bundled up.

1. Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas. I play through Fallout 1 & 2 once every other year. New Vegas is such a recent purchase, that after almost 100% completion, I haven't been up to playing it again yet.

2. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2. I play through them every other year.

3. Civilization 2 Multiplier Gold Edition. Every now and then I get the urge to start insane city sprawling all over the world, and this game satisfies that urge.

4. Dark Souls: Prepare to Die. It was my first Souls game and quite an adventure to finish. I don't play it regularly, but I do start a throughput every other year, with mixed success.

5. Plan escape: Torment. Haven't really played it since my complete throughput, but every now and then I read up on the dialog and quests of the game, and listen to the voice acting and soundtrack.

6. Chronic Trigger. Play it through every other year.

7. Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines. Start a throughput every other year, but usually get bored by the time you get to Hollywood sewers.

8. Team Fortress 2. Play it at least a few times a month.

9. Batman: Ark ham Asylum. Play it every few months.

10. Super Meteoroid. I start a throughput at least once a year with mixed success.

In No particular order. These 10 games impressed me the most on my first play through. Doesn't mean I play them repeatedly, especially the puzzle games.

Fallout - New Vegas

ES- Oblivion

Final Fantasy VIII

Chrono Cross

Kingdom of Amular - Reckoning

Mass Effect 2

Grandia 1

Final Fantasy 12

Shadow of the Colossus

Portal 2

I can say I've played Skyrim more than all of them, actually overplayed unfortunately, but PS3 issues and a lack of good writing pretty much discouraged me initially. I returned to the game once DLC was available, and the final patch, and the game quality was raised quite a bit. Wished they'd done more add ons. Fallout 3 was a disappointment after New Vegas, but a decent game in it's own rights.

Day of the Tentacle (Old CD-Rom version - Still play now and then)

Morrowind. (Still play now and then)
Planescape: Torment. (Completed in 2015 - GOG version - slowing working through a backlog of popular RPGs - Baldurs Gate 1&2, Fallout 1 and 2 still to go)
Portal 2 (Play it every so often)
Skyrim (Game I have played the most - currently giving it a rest.)
Starflight 2. (first played and completed around 1990 - play it every few years - still my favorite space game. Haven't played for a while)

1. Secret of Mana: Just finished up a run through about a year ago

2. Earthbound: Year and a half

3. Heroes of Might and Magic III: Yesterday

4. Daggerfall: A few years

5. Neverwinter Nights: A year or so

6. Final Fantasy VI(III in the states): Several years

7. Final Fantasy XI: 2010

8. Rune Factory: Couple of months ago when I played through RF3

9. Disgaea(any of them, I rate all of them roughly the same): Less then a month ago

10. Blue Dragon(simply because it's the only RPG I've ever gotten my wife to play): Since me and my wife played it through. It's only on my list due to the fact that it's the first game I ever got my wife to play with me AND because it was an RPG at that.

I apologize if this has been addressed already, but what OS do you run that's causing you issues with NWN1? I have Win7, and all the components in my current computer are no older then Mid-2012, and I have no issue playing NWN. Though, if I do recall there can be graphical issues, but those should be easily sorted out with a quick google search if you really want to play it again(it's a great game, with just as good X-Pacs, so I can see why someone would want to revisit it).

While this may not hold true for everyone, for me it's not the quality of the graphics, it's the TYPE of graphics. I can't stand Cel-Shaded graphics. I remember waaaayy back when Borderlands was first introduced, the original screenshots had normal graphics, and man I was stoked for that game, I went out and pre-ordered it immediately. It just looked awesome and a lot of fun, but then a year or so after that initial article they revealed that they had made the switch to Cel-Shaded graphics(and if peeps don't believe me, I still have the original GI that showed non Cel-shaded graphics) and I immediately went out and cancelled my pre-order.

Mine is Windows 7 also. My problem was that the game was a slideshow. Literally, one frame every second or two. I Googled and tried a number of possible solutions. I don't recall all of them now. But I know I fiddled around with compatibility settings and some graphics settings in game options and a few other things. I did manage to speed the game up, very slightly, but I could never get the thing to play smoothly. But I'll try again someday. I'm sure I must have overlooked something obvious.

I remember having minor issues myself, and on another forum someone else was having MAJOR issues, just like yours, I know they found a solution, let me see if I can figure it out

It doesn't matter if you still play it or not, it's the experience it left you with. A game you spent 20 hours with can feel much more memorable than a game you spent 200 hours with.

I wasn't trying to imply that "playing still" mattered. I was just curious how many players still play their "all-time favorite games" is all :)

The first Bioshock was an amazing game, hands down. I wish I still have it though... Mig't have to go look for it and get it again now.

A good modding community? Cool! I got this from GOG not too long ago. I'll have to look at this more closely :)
