Oh wow this outta be hard. In order

1. Skyrim
2. Super Smash Bros. Melee
3. Kirby Air Ride
4. GTA San Andreas
5. Pikmin 2
6. Uncharted 3
7. Borderlands 2
8. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
9. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
10. Mario Kart DS

On a related note, a lot of these games are there simply because of the great memories I have tied to them. I personally like Super Smash Bros. for Wii U more than Melee, but I have such fond childhood memories of Melee that it makes the list. Same for MW3, it's there because of all the hours I played with my cousin, not because of how good the game is overall. Then again, it shouldn't matter how good a game is, just how much fun you had with it.

They must be so obscure that not even you yourself have even heard of the game. Just slap in random games on your top 10. Hell, you know what, screw that. Just make up games. Or just type in a whole bunch of gibberish. After all, asdfghjkl; is one of my favorite games of all time that has set a new standard for RPGs everywhere.

Daggerfall
Deus Ex
Suikoden II
Suikoden V
System Shock
System Shock 2
Thief
Thief 2
UFO: Enemy Unknown
VtM: Bloodlines

Or something. But really, cutting down hundreds of games over 30 years down to a top 10 list is damn hard. There are so many more games I would like to put there, like Streets of Rage and Yakuza 4 only to mention a few.

In no real order-
Fallout New Vegas.
KOTOR 2.
Deus Ex: HR.
VtM: Bloodlines.
Dragon Quest VIII.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
Red Dead Redemption.
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
Legend of Zelda: Link to the past.
Morrowind.
Silent Hill 2 & 3.
I don't really have a favorite game of all time, but maybe, just maybe while I'm on my deathbed, I'll write one. :P

I find my list is always changing, and I dunno if I could order them 1-10. And I try not to fall to nostalgic choices either (otherwise the whole list would just be N64 and Gameboy games :P )

Warcraft 3 (and Frozen Throne)

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker

Rome: Total War

Oblivion

Crusader Kings II

Halo 2

Mass Effect 2

DayZ

Pokemon Gold/Silver

Mount and Blade: Warband

In no particulat order

C&C Tiberian Sun

C&C Red Alert 2

Halo Combat Evolved

TES Morrowind

Metal Gear Solid

Runescape

COD 4 Modern Warfare

LOTR Battle For Middle Earth 2

KOTOR

Baldurs Gate DA

I went mostly by time played. MGS was the only exception to that rule.

In no particularly order because I can't decide in a sequential ten

Deus Ex
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Jak II
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Star Wars: Jedi Knights II: Jedi Outcast
Baldur's Gate 2
True Crime Streets of LA
Burnout 3
Mass Effect

Some of these though flip-flop, and the list would've been different several years ago before I'd played Deus Ex, and Baldur's Gate

In no particular order:

Fallout

GTA: Vice City

Yakuza 4

Metro: Last Light

Hitman: Contracts

Medal of Honor: Frontline

Fallout: New Vegas

Goldeneye

Dragon's Dogma

Golden Sun (As well as Golden Sun: The Lost Age. I know they're two games, but the plot continues in Lost Age so may as well count it as one)

Morrowind
Postal 2
Thief
Silent Hill 2
Fallout 3
Populous: The Beginning
Midtown Madness
Dishonored
Requiem: Avenging Angel
Myst III: Exile

Main theme is player agency. With the exception of two puzzle games with amazing design and thematic integrity...

PS. I still haven't gotten around playing some games(Deus Ex, New Vegas etc..) so that can change.

I find it hard to believe that anyone of us here could actually quantify our favorite 10 video games into one list. I posted in this thread yesterday with the top 10 and already today I thought of an entirely new list that I would say hey this would actually probably be my top 10 with completely different games. They're just so many games that I have played and loved and have forgotten about.

You havent played New Vegas yet, and you have both morrowind and fallout 3 on your list?! You gotta get on that right away! New Vegas is the most recent bethesda style game that to me is most like Morrowind, and in my mind blows skyrim and fallout 3 out of the water. It's at least worth a try (and the replay value on the game is just insane because of all the different factions and quest paths and outcomes).

In somewhat of an order from best to least. I know I don't have the same tastes as your typical gamer. I know what I like and I stick to them.

  • Skyrim
  • Halo: Combat Evolved
  • Battlefield Bad Company 2
  • Morrowind
  • Battlefield 4
  • Delta Force 2
  • Motocross Madness 2
  • Delta Force Black Hawk Down
  • Mortal Kombat 2
  • MX vs ATV Reflex

I don't see a problem with that. Adding "but you don't have to agree, as it is just my opinion." for every subjective sentence would be redundant, don't you think?

There can never be an objective way of expressing one game being better than another. Somebody has to say so, subjectively. Better, best as words inherently have subjectivity.

Or do you mean they have to elaborate?

My backlog is killing me, you have no idea. And I have a severe case of modditis too.

I am a pleasure delayer. New Vegas will be fresh for me. It will be my first time after all.

PS. Blowing out Oblivion? Please... Oblivion never landed. Skyrim isn't so bad but I wouldn't go for less. If it is better than Fallout 3, that would make me happy enough.
