the card is fine for other games i tried using it on skyrim and fallout new vegas and i can run both on max and it detects it perfectly

just fallout 4 is being a [censored] about it ...

i just want it fixed so i can actually play it instead of looking at my current $200 of wasted content

Skyrim and New Vegas are definitely not good games to compare against. Those games are very, very simple graphically compared to Fallout 4, The Witcher 3 etc.

wasnt comparing to them graphically im going with that they can detect my graphics card yet fallout 4 cant

just did a test on vermintide and starcraft 2 on high settings and my card it fine with those 2 so yea

i would rather a solution to get fallout 4 to detect my card so i can actually play it

For a card as low performing as that, its to be expected. Have you read the system requirements and understand the minimum?

I have a 2Gb EVGA 750Ti and get the same error, the game plays okay on high with Godrays turned to low. Some stuttering, particularly when moving sideways in fog or storm light effects.

Pretty similar to how it runs Skyrim with high-res textures, so it's not an entirely inapt comparison. But the 750Ti is substantially faster than the 745...

Yea the TI makes a difference. I have a 760 and running high settings with rays and shadows etc on medium or low. Mostly 60fps, couple of dips to 50 ish. 1 place I've found goes to 45 at certain angles. All in all pretty great, but I'm closer the minimum that recommended for GPU.

No offence, but min requirements essentially means you are getting the min experience which it sounds like you are. Also the Graphics card is pretty old.

Even so, all the game does is choose one of the presets (Low, medium, high, ultra). You can do that regardless of the game detecting the card. The game crashing or being unstable isn't relevant to the game not detecting your video card. Also, a Geforce 745 would be very borderline outside of what the game requires so I'm not surprised they didn't include it in their GPU database. A desktop grade Geforce 750 would be closer performance wise to a 550Ti.

Ensure your video card has 2GB of VRAM too. If you want a reasonable experience without spending a ton I'd recommend a desktop grade Geforce 960Ti with at least 2GB of VRAM, a 4GB Geforce 970 if you want some future proofing.
