Post the coolest/wierdest/scariest/epic random encounted that you stumbled upon while exploring the gigantic world of Skyrim.
These are mine so far:
- I saw a dragon attacking 2 cave bears... It actually died lol.

- I was walking on a trail and found 2 mages battling it out. (1 was fire mage; 1 was ice mage). It was awesome watching.

That's it for me... I hope to find better encounters, but it's still fine for me.

I had a dragon follow me for the longest while exploring the wilds; it was obviously a glitch because he wouldn’t attack me. So for about an hour straight I would hear him roar and watch him swoop in but never get aggressive towards me. Felt kind of like having a huge parrot following you around. Other than that the occasional guard chasing a deer halfway across the map and seeing animals fight is about the most exciting stuff I see.

I had one of those "fugitives" run up to me while I was sneaking up on a pack of wolves. He gave me a random item and then proceeded to get mauled by the wolves. Then the guard ran up to me while the fugitive was right next to me fighting wolves and asked me if I'd seen the guy. I said no, and he immediately joined the fight. They killed the wolves together, and then the guard killed the fugitive and went on his merry way.

I guess it's not so funny in writing, but it was pretty hilarious to see.

Sounds hilarious. =P

A ghost headless horseman rode past me, that was rather different.

Had the fugitive scene as well.


After stabbing the fugitive in the back, I stood over his corpse when the owner of the item he had stolen came along.

Both of us standing over his corpse, he asked me if I had... seen him, and upon giving the owner back the stolen item, he continued on, saying that he would kill the thief when he catched him, stepping over the thief's dead body and running off.


I was a little.... o.O after that

So THAT's what's supposed to happen. I had that event, and the guard never spawned for me. I eventually looked around and found the guy hiding behind a nearby ruined tower. I proceeded to murder him and keep the item for myself, because hey, I'm an assassin, why not?

No one else?

best encounter ever: i was walking east along a river when a saber cat decided i looked like a tasty dinner, so i ran for my life (well swam, over the river to be exact). after i thought i was safe i heard howling and wolves wanted to hunt the wounded adventurer (those animals know how to work together :sweat: ). after killing the things without much trouble (i would've died if i took a little longer though, dang cat) a dragon swooped over head and flew of into the sunset (with me following as fast as i could, suicidle? maybe :tongue: )

funny: found a giant water fall with a log spaning the (huge) gap just in front of it. i wanted to cross it but about halfway through a bandit startd shooting me from farther down the log. i fus roh dah'd him off when a dragon comes looking for food, so i jump. after falling a good 100 feet (at least, but im not the best person to estamate distances) i fell into the river, right beside the dead bandit, dead, he died but i survived :celebration: turns out he hit a rock about half way down

I ran into a group of men hunting. Not really weird or awesome, but I wasn't expecting it.

A bandit was about to finish me off when a giant knocked him into the stratosphere.

I was traveling near Ivarstead, on my way to Riften, when several suspicious looking legionnaires stopped me in the middle of the road. I say suspicious because these legionnaires had mixed uniforms (light armor yet officer's helm etc.) - that and they were not human... They consisted of an orc, a dunmer, and an altmer. The orc approached me and requested that, "as a citizen of the Empire," I should pay a toll to support the troops. Unfortunately for them, I was already part of the Legion and one of the responses was, "I'm part of the legion, and I'm pretty damn sure you're not" or something along those lines. Knowing that they were caught, they proceeded to attack me when suddenly a sabre cat jumped from the edge of my screen killing the trio. Taking advantage of this, I hopped back onto my horse and bolted from the scene. I came back a few moments later to find the cat gone and the three would-be legionnaires dead on the road. It was not until I turned around that I saw three naked bodies behind a bush. They were probably the original soldiers they ambushed.

But yeah... bandits posing as soldiers of the Empire and a sabre cat mauling them from out of nowhere... totally random.

While being attacked by a Dragon, I noticed that it was wandering around attacking other things than me.
Fire, at the thing to the north...
Fire, at the thing to the east...
It turns out that it killed; one Giant, two Frost Trolls, and a couple of wolves...and one Lydia!!!
Oh God NO!!!
Not her!!!
I reloaded, but it still hurts!

The most recent one for me was a Dragon fighting a Giant, my companion and 2 Frostbite Spiders near the cliffs of Morthal. My favorite part was when one of the spiders went flying through the air and landed on the Jarl's house in Morthal.

In the end the Giant came out the victor. I killed him of course. Can't have some tall ugly basketball player taking all the glory.

Ulfric and his general were passing through riverwood to get to a certain place but when the guard attacked them, one townsfolk decided it was wrong to attack ulfric unprovoked so she stepped in to fight but got killed by the guard in the process. Then ulfric used a shout to beat him down.
Im sure this was not scripted.

Today I had a courier deliver a message to me in is underwear :laugh:

Prob got robbed.

I was wandering around and these three "soldiers" stopped me, told me I was interfering with Imperial business, and then demanded 100g... so I killed them, of course. Nearby I found the dead bodies of the real soldiers who had been stripped of their uniforms.

That's exactly what happened to me in my post. I was starting to wonder if I was the only one to have experienced it :tongue:

Well, I felt brave and wanted to test my strength versus a giant. I took one hit and it almost killed me outright so I started moving away trying some kiting tactic. But, alas, he got another hit on me and sent me flying hundreds of meters up into the air. Flying ragdoll galore.

A naked courier gave me a letter once, No idea where he pulled it out from....

while sitting on a mountain watching a dragon and some mammoths/ giants fighting it out, i looked to the left only to see a mammoth re-enter the atmosphere, and splash down in a mini-geyser... apparently we had mammoth astronaughts pre-monkeys :cryvaultboy:

I was fighting that dragon priest Krosis and a dragon came and attacked me lol. Sigh

I was just walking around and found 3 Thalmor fighting 3 Stormcloaks and the Thalmor killed all 3 Stormcloak soldiers real quick. After they were done one of the Thalmor started threatening me saying I needed to mind my own business and all i was doing was standing there and they started attacking me so a dog came out of nowhere and tried to help me and we took them out and now i have him going everywhere with me because that moment was so awesome and unexpected

I was in the middle of bringing my shield up block an attack from the dragon right in front of me when my character all of the sudden does a 180 to talk to the fugitive who shoves a bow in my hands and runs off. Just a few moments later, I'm once again forced to turn around too see the hunter asking if I've seen the thief.
