Your worst moment playing nv

Post » Mon Feb 01, 2010 11:30 am

Stepped out of Brewer's Beer Bootlegging and come face to face with five [censored] Cazadores. Died a lot. And of course it was during a long stretch where I was doing way too much and not saving, so all I had was the auto-save from walking out of the place. That was, hands down, the worst moment of New Vegas for me.

In hardcoe mode for the first time with 10hp requiring veronica's services wink wink then she died literally a min later from cazadores who mocked my dead body and lost 3hrs gameplay.

*goes into strip
CRASH
*trys once more
CRASH
*Trys a few more times
CRASH CRASH CRASH
*goes onto forums, sees its just another game braker, waits for patch :verymad:
*gets patch, a month late, but at least got it

But game play wise, Id have to say the worst time was when a legion team came and messed me up.All I was armed with was a varmet rifle scoped, and a 10mm, and I was only a lvl 10. Not fun.

I can't think of anything.

I've had tons of brainfart moments (like not realizing there was a flashlight on your PipBoy for weeks) and of course those weird glitches here and there, but nothing I'd consider a "worst" moment gameplay wise. Even if I die I typically find it amusing rather than frustrating...at least in this game. I never had any die uselessly over and over and over moments, which are the ones I can't stand.

Probably the most irritating thing was when I realized how many Perks were useless to me personally. Most of my chrs. have almost no combat Perks chosen.

I got stuck in a rock trying to run away from about five cazadores, I finally just put my gun away and started punching em. You already know how this one ends. Another one was doing the quest where you have to rescue the captured slaves from Nipton by attacking to legion camp, I thought it would be easy experience since there were only like five of them standing around, until I shot the first one and and they started pouring at me from everywhere like ants. That one didn't end so well either.

Probably the moment I realized the whole game is a big gang war and every gang was my enemy with no reason... I was doing jobs for the Powder gang but their members still kept attacking me in the wastelands and I would have loved to join some gang but how shoud I do it if everyones trying to kill me.

every time i get near the end and the writers decide who i shouid kill. i cant even try to lie i have a 100 in speech but can t use it during the most important times of the game. I can get a hoker to bang me for 50 caps less but no options during the important time. None of the ways this game can end r the best way and the writers hamstrung the player into doing things he doesnt think is a good idea or the game will not progress. People telling me to kill everyone but them is not a good set up to the ending. Everytime i get near the end is the worst because it seems like there r choices but they r really all real close to the same. Excluding a Ceaser ending.

When I started the game and found it to be FO3 with crafting and annoying enemies. I have only completed it once compared to the countless characters I have created in FO3.
P.S: Not trying to flame, only express my opinion.

Legate Lanius finally falls dead at my feet after my first playthrough and attempt at killing him. Was a tough fight (first playthrough and wasn't really prepared enough, just sorta plowed through the main quest on my first go). Was just celebrating my glorious victory when the game crashed.

My worst moment was running into those death claws in that mine area.

Worst moment for my sister is when she spent 3 hours making her character, forgot to save, and die. She didn't felt like making another one since she is picky when it comes to looks.

Beating the game was the worst moment for me because, I had to say goodbye to all my friends like Cass and ED-E and all the others.

Hands down it was when I found out that Veronica was a lisbian. :banghead: When I first met her I thought DAMN that is one fine looking woman...thanks Obsidian....I went about 30 hours with her as my companion, searching for a dress, giving her teddy bears, trying to find the best armor that would show off her body the best.....when I finally realized that she probably wasn't going to actually put a dress on, I started asking her some more questions...well, you know what happened then.
My jaw dropped to the floor and I went another 50 hours with Boone before I allowed her to travel with me again!! :hugs:

First encountering Cazadore. "Pffft, these little pansy bugs?" -pulls out varmint rifle- *Five seconds later* "OH GOD RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN"

This an impossible number of times.

@inbredmachinehead

How is it that you travelled with Veronica for 30 hours and never found out, did you never trouble to actually speak to her till then?

LvL 13, normal, first playthrough.
Had Boone and ED-E.
Walked into Deadwind Cavern looking for supplies.
Deathclaws, all up in my varmint rifles face.
I run outside and begun running.
Turn around, Legendary came outside to play.
Run into an NCR patrol and 2 merchant caravans
All slaughtered while I ran away.
Made it to Novac, hid in my room.
Refused to play NV for weeks.

Had a female character I was really happy with. Was careful about her level progression, and skill allotment, etc. She was a luck based character, so I figured Miss Fortune would be good. And it was pretty cool, and funny. After a few more levels I decide to also pick Mysterious Stranger. Big Mistake. His name may as well have been "Mr. Buggy McBugger" It started off with his kill animations lasting a bit too long. Then it got ridiculous.

I fast-travelled to a point where there were many Deathclaws (I wasn't expecting them). So I lock on the head of the nearest one as I plan an escape route. McBugger shows up and fires a shot in Vats. I can't move, am stuck in crouching position, as time marches on slowly in vats land, as M.S. still stands there. The Deathclaws keep coming, and are smacking me around. He still stands there, gazing off into the distance, pretending he is awesome. My character gets pushed off the side of the screen as she's being hit, leaving only M.S. standing there on screen. Suddenly his head turns and looks in the direction my character went, as is to say, "Oh.....". Then I died.

Getting basically everything for the perfect energy weapons character - power armour training, EVERY skill book, unique weapons and a big stash of ammo, veronica + ed-e quests completed and then having my only save file decide to freeze constantly in freeside rendering my efforts all but pointless and the final nail in the coffin for this could-have-epic-game.

My oblivion has NEVER crashed.

It does not need to be a new Oblivion...that game can be 50 years old, never crash, and still be better then any fallout game....or any game at that.

so go play it, and leave Fallout alone, that statement alone has ensured that your words on what should be done with Fallout will fall on deaf ears.
