Your WTF Moments in Skyrim #16

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 6:00 pm

My favorite so far was a zombie Forgotten Vale deer. It was so cute.
Second runner up, an UNARMED skeleton. I have no idea in what way she thought it could be of use...

The deady body of a woman labeled "worshipper" mysteriously showed up on my Lakeview doorstep...did she sacrifice herself to the last Dragonborn?

That would be my guess too. How she ended up on your doorstep is another question. Spawn gone bad.

Came out of Lakeview manor the other day, and heard the tell-tale foot stomping of a giant.

Uh oh, gotta take care of that!

Started going around the house to find him and the little red dot kept moving around the house, too. I thought, "Oh, he's going around the other way!" I switched directions, and circled around the way I had come. Now the little red dot is going the other way. I circled once more, and identified that he was actually stuck inside my house! He was outdoors, I mean, but physically stuck within the game-mechanic boundaries that defined Lakeview Manor. He couldn't get to me, and I couldn't get to him.

I just shrugged and went about my business... Eventually, he showed up outdoors after a couple of load screen changes. By then, though, the knuckle head had killed my chickens. Fortunately my cow is faster than most horses, he shot off right away.

Nope, http://images.uesp.net/0/0e/SR-npc-Worshipper_Nord_Female.jpg is her. I did some digging and found out she's from the Talos shrine slaughter....how she ended up on my doorstep is a major WTF moment and leaves room for some interesting RP reasons. I gave my daughters daggers and told Rayya to be on high alert :P

Oh I had completely forgotten about that.

Another reason I'm not keen on building a home there.

I was thinking of the Talos shrine, I thought that was the one Res meant to. What shrine did you mean, Res? The altar with the necromancer? Or is there another one nearby?

It's amazing how many WTF moments you can generate when trying to get things in a mod working as they should.

You've all seen dragons flying backwards. I've seen NPCs walking backwards, teleporting from towers that have nothing to do with them, and exiting stores when they have no packages to enter stores. I've even seen a prisoner plop down on the chopping block to get his head chopped off, without the guard behind him to push him down. And it can't get any weirder than a prisoner following a guard, and then you going through a load door and back, only to find the prisoner missing and seconds later, he's hauling ass out of a building to catch up to the guard. Hands unbound and all, giving the impression that he had a quicky with one of the female NPCs before going back to jail.

Looted a skeleton I had killed. In its inventory I found an Ancient Nord bow (perfectly normal), some Ancient Nord arrows (also perfectly normal) and... a Draught of Pickpocketing.

A thief in a previous life? :D

So... maybe a read it wrong but the giant frost spider in Bleak Falls Barrow was named Wounded Frost Spider when I attacked it last night. Ironic? I think yes...

What are the other reasons that you're not keen on building there? Are there other bugs that are commonplace there or is it just a personal preference?

Dead talos worshipers nearby. necro shrine nearby. Hut full if thieves and dead khajiit nearby. Its almost always raining there in Falkreath. They call it lakeview. Why not build it closer to the lake? I bet it would have the best place for fishing.

Seriously who thought of these locations?

Seems like Blaise is one of those kids who already at an early age are be planning for a career as a vet... You'd better watch out there, soon you'll find that he has rabbits, more skeevers, a couple of mudcrabs, an antfarm and, in the basemant, a wounded chaurus. :P

Still a better location than the other two. Lakeview Manor is my go-to place for Hearthfire, I need no other!

Think of the necromancer as regular weapon practice ;)

And I must say, it doesn't rain that often, at least not in my 360 playthrough where I have Lakeview Manor.

Old Orc and Argonian Thief Random encounters spawed together. They where standing next to eachother but then the Argonian decided to attack the dog. http://i.imgur.com/JJDU6ES.jpg
Why didn't the Orc join in for a good death.

not a chaurus, not if it comes with the sound. Cara will never go home!

It's a good quest, just make sure you don't rush through or you'll miss the good stuff. It's one of my favorite quests and I usually do it with a certain type of character.

The WTF of today: coming out from Castle Volkihar after defeating Harkon and realizing that Gunmar had forgot his armored troll. The poor beast stood there all alone while the the Dawnguard had left. I wanted to take him with me but he wouldn't follow... :(

Ah well. He can probably set up a nice little troll den on the back of the island, feeding on fish and horkers.

Was on the way to Saarthal with my treasure hunting orc. She came across the college folk walking there so decided to follow. Half way there a robber showed up. I'm not sure which of those mages killed him but he was dead before he knew it lol

I was playing around with Ahzidal's Boots of Waterwalking and I wanted to see if I could "lay" down on the water. So I walked out onto the water and ate some netch jelly, but instead of falling down on the water my character plunged into the water and then shot back out. When he came out of the water he was swimming in the air just above the water. Then I swam to the shore and I was still swim flying.
