Your WTF Moments in Skyrim #16

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 2:28 pm

Time for the next run. Carried quite a heavy haul of Mammoth tusks from Halted Stream Camp today which was more than I remember from my other play through. I'm enjoying playing without a follower this time, it looks like this incarnation of Olaf will be more of a loner who enjoys the Beast Blood.

Is a marriage with Aela in his future? Could be but not anytime soon.

Me and J'zargo arrived at Embershard Mine. Out front there were 3 bandits. Before combat ever started the one at the front sees us and yells "Gods help us!!!".

I do not know the prerequisites for that line but it is the first hearing it from a bandit who is not hurt and before any of them had turned hostile. Gave me that grand feeling of being a badass being able to intimidate a bandit and her knowing she was going to die just by looking at us.

Entered the imperial camp in Riften to find one horse standing on the other... both were moving around in some kinda weird skyrim horse mating ritual. I go about my business, check in with Rikke and all of a sudden I hear the sound of a horse dying. I go look and one of the horses was dead while the other walked off like nothing happened.

eh... ok. lol

So I use resurrect 1 on the horse because I felt bad for it. It comes back to life but is still lying on the ground like its dead so I select it to ride... forgetting despite my imperial alliance they still view taking their horses as stealing. Next thing I know the whole camp (Rikke and two imperials) are hostile. Was forced to reload from an earlier save.

Used vampire seduction on the smith in solitude to feed on him and my character floats through the air towards the gate and then respawns in front of the tanning rack before feedin.

Non wtf: Killed our favorite Dragon Priest friday night, can you guys guess his name?

Hev is usually pretty cool about that. I think he enjoys the idea of someone using his mask. Kind of makes him feel immortal without being reduced to wandering around in a spirit state.

You knew whom I was talking about immediately. Hevnoraak, Krosis, and Konahriik are my top three favorite masks.

Krosis only because he is the first Dragon Priest I even try to kill.

Another wtf moment: used vampire seduction (on the same blacksmith) and just as I feed on him he shouts this: Help help someone is being attacked *1000 bounty added to Solitude's hold* I exited dialogue with him after and found that I could not move as the guards swarmed me and started to attack. Needless to say I reverted to a previous save and tried again, this time there was no bounty but it sure was funny.

Followed the Companions this time instead of taking my own route to Ysgramor's tomb and the run was pretty wild. It was nice having three others around to take the heat. Then they ran into a pathing issue in the mountains East of Dawnstar.

Dag Nab it!

I left them behind and followed an easy path from there to the sea, I have no idea why they couldn't go the same way and was staring them right in the freaking face. Found Frostflow lighthouse and the mammoth half frozen in ice along the way. Somehow managed to fight through the two ice wraiths by myself but got taken down by a dang snowy saber cat when I was within smelling distance of the place.

And of course I had made no saves along the route.

All of that epicness only to be taken down by a sabrecat. Should have gone into frostflow man, would have been worth it too.

This time I will, I've heard some fun things about the place. I keep getting svcked into the hurried nature of quests rather than saying to heck with it and taking my time.

I have yet to enter but I know that once I will that it will be worth it, and for added humor I might do so in vampire lord.

Speaking of a certain type of enemy I had a wtf moment with one just a while back.

I killed the first falmer and his buddy decided it was for some reason a good idea to run through the moving spinning blades. To be fair they are blind but it was still funny to watch.

After having trouble with the first two enemies I faced I've decided to save Frostflow for when I'm a bit higher level. It svcks being lvl 14 again! There are some very interesting things there though!

It reminds me of a Falskaar quest, the mod author could have almost cut and pasted this scenario.

Got to Frostflow Lighthouse again and found a dead horse buried up to his neck in snow. Shrugged and went inside. Found out the cause of the distress and am sure everyone is dead so I looted the place. Opened the door and had a stiff battle with the two

in the cellar. At level 14 I am either going to have to put this off or bring Uthgerd back with me if she will even accompany me while the quest is active, I'm weighing my options now.

When I walked back outside the horse was on the other side of the road and completely snow free. Too bad no horse hide to loot.

For now I'm alternating back and forth from Whiterun and Lakeview having just built my starter home. I've stored just about everything there now and planted my garden except for a couple of targeted items. Lakeview will hold my Library and Heljerchen in time my Kitchen.

Attacking the Thalmor ebassy on the back of Odahviing who apparently started to fly slow for some reason.

Also attacked the dragon at shearpoint. It decided to turn invisible and fast traveling froze the game. Good thing I saved while on Odahviing's back over Dragon Bridge.

Walked out the door of Lakeview and was met by two thugs. "We're here to teach you a lesson." I thought "WTF, who did I accidently steal from?"

Between myself and Uthgerd (My steward) they were easy pickings. The contract specified they were hired by Moira.

Looked the name up on UESP WIKI and found out that the client was a Hagraven! Apparently she didn't take kindly to having all of the Glenmoril Witches beheaded.

Ah well, too bad so sad. She is out her payment and I am 1,000 gold richer after looting the idiots.

Guess your wtf moment is no longer a wtf moment.

A real wtf moment would be a forsworn briarheart hiring thugs for stealing his um . . . heart if you want to call it a heart.

So I'm running quite a few mods for various different things.
My follower (Inigo) and I have just slayed the dragon at Bonestrewn Crest and it's getting dark so I decide to set up camp. I tell Inigo to relax and he starts wandering around while I set up the campsite. I finally finish arranging the tent, campfire, chairs and bedrolls when I realise I haven't seen Inigo for a while.
Knowing he wouldn't have gone far I start searching the area, only to find him fast asleep in one of the wooden coffins near the word wall. I guess my bedrolls weren't good enough for him.

He slept in a coffin? Is he a vampire or something?

Nope, and I didn't even realise it was possible to sleep in those sort of coffins.
It was particularly funny because he was still talking to me despite being asleep, so I was like he was sleeptalking to boot.

Is Durak a werewolf? No info I can find about him indicates it, but OTOH I've only just begun the DG questline.

Thing is, I use Moonlight Tales. For Aela and the other members of The Circle, I get options to tell them to transform by themselves or only when I do, even before they become available as followers. These options also show up when I talk to Durak, but no other followers or potential followers. So first I thought, ok, he's a werewolf, too bad that got spoiled this way, but now I tried to look it up and couldn't find anything. So I guess it's just another random wtf mod moment...

I'd recently killed a couple of wolves outside Riverwood that had taken down an elk. The next time I walked past, the two wolf carcasses were where I left them, but the elk was embedded head first in the ground, just the back half showing. Looked like a furry Ostrich!

to my knowledge he is NOT a werewolf. I have played the DG through several times and never has there been an indication of werewolves in any of the Dawnguard. Considering they are a branch off from Stendarr worhipers I doubt they would smile on it anyway. The only mention of werewolves is by Harkan when he offers to give you the gift. He is rather up front about his opinion of you if your a werewolf.

On a wtf moment for me.

I went past Whiterun about 2 in game days ago and along the side of the road was the three imposter imperials demanding money. I slaughted them and went on my way past Whiterun to Solitude. On my way back from Solitude to EastMarch I passed along the same road. Guess who stopped me at the EXACT same spot? Yup, the same three imperial imposters. Guess they never learned the first time so I killed them again.

2 in game days seemed to be rather short distance for a respawn. And in the exact same place?

Also went into a bandit cave I had cleared a while back to find three bandits fighting eachother in the entrance.

Today a dragon attacked Belladonna when I fast travelled to the CoW. So far so normal.

Partway through the fight collision seemed to turn itself off and the dragon and Bella started going through walls and floors.

I brought up the console to check I hadn't inadvertantly turned collision off, nope, no console commands used this session, turned the console off and lo and behold collision was restored and Bella who was beneath the ground fell to her death.

Reloaded, fast travelled to the College again, attacked by dragon again but this time a perfectly normal fight.

Another strange thing with this werewolf-option-thingy is that my character is NOT a werewolf, so the dialogue is not only strange, it's completely irrelevant.

And stupid bandits, don't even know when to stay dead!
