Youtube Channel - Feedback

Post » Sat Apr 10, 2010 4:06 pm

Hey folks, as it says "This thread is to be used ONLY for posting your Brink-related fansites, clans and forums. All other links will be removed. Do not post your site more than once, and do not use this thread for chitchat or questions" in the Brink fansites, clans and forums announced here, I figured I had to create a new thread for this.

Anyhoo, I'm currently working on my future Youtube-Channel for BRINK and added a new design lately. As I want it to get popular and well accepted across the community, of course, I'd like to know some things from you guys now:

  • Do you like the design?
    • If not, what would you change?

  • Do you like the idea of having live-commentary as first video?
    • If so, what would you like to see in this first video? Singleplayer, Coop or Multiplayer? Campaign or the "Objective" Mutliplayer Gamemode?
    • If not, what would you like to see first, instead?

  • What would you like to see first after release in general?
(e.g. Campaign playthrough, multiplayer strategies, class guide ...)
  • What kind of information would you like to have added to the info-panel on the left?

Of course, here is the link to my Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/vREVOLUZZERv

That's it for now. I'm looking forward to your feedback!

Do you like the design?

The design looks good, only flaw I can find is that the two people you have in the background have their faces hidden by the borders, could be fixed by simply reversing the sides they are on.

I think the first video should be a recap of the features of brink, basically something i could link to to try and convince people to play it. If you end up doing this, it wouldn't really matter if it was single or multiplayer other than to show that there is no difference between the two.

What kind of information would you like to have added to the info-panel on the left?

Including your gaming background would probably go a long way in convincing people you know what you're talking about.

Also, had no clue you were German >.>

I personally am always searching for solid advice on good strategy. Be it multiplayer, campaign, weapons combinations, class based strategies, and so forth. And it is nice to find things like this in video format. But the problem lies therein that it is not always clear and concise. There is not a lot of clarity or confidence in the advice I find on youtube. But I would frequent your channel if you provided no nonsense but friendly common sense tips about how to play more effectively.

If possible, try to do some commentaries of competition play. I love to watch these.

What resolution do you use?

I build the design on 1920x1080 and tried to make sure it works on 1680x1050 as well.

I think the first video should be a recap of the features of brink, basically something i could link to to try and convince people to play it. If you end up doing this, it wouldn't really matter if it was single or multiplayer other than to show that there is no difference between the two.

Yeah, I was thinking about this as well. But I wonder if it wouldn't make more sense to put a series of videos together to cover all the features of BRINK in depth, instead of having one rough view across the board. After all a gameplay would show some core features as well, wouldn't it?

Including your gaming background would probably go a long way in convincing people you know what you're talking about.

Good idea; I'll add some there.

This isn't the first time people tell me this.

There will always be a hint of nonsense, I think. :D

But I think I got what you'd basicly like to see: Short guides which don't beat around the bush. Which means a lengh of 3 to 5 minutes for these videos, then.

If possible, try to do some commentaries of competition play. I love to watch these.

Uh, that's going to be a tough task.

I managed to rise my average KDR from 0.5 - 1.2 to only just 1.1 - 3.0 in MW2 (aIWnet) lately.

You'll be better in Brink :D Try to set up some games with some friends. try to 3v3 or 6v6, always great for competitive gaming with objectives?

Good work Rev, most of the things i would like to see have already been suggested so I won't waste your time. When the game is (finally) released I would like to see Brink funnies and epic fails. A quick video on all the features, then more in depth ones would be good (although a lot of work)

I like it. Also I would be more than willing to help with any kind of guide once the game comes out. If you want any help that is.

I understand your reasoning but we don't allow threads to be made about personal sites, forums, youtube channels, etc.
