YOUTUBE : Uploading to it .... how long will it take ?

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 6:57 pm

I have a 20 second vid i want to uplaod last time i uploaded a vid it was 6 seconds long and it took about an hour or two to upload (and that was after cutting it from 30 seconds down to 6 seconds)

also the vid is from GTA 4 so what could i name it so that it might get more views than my 1st vid got ???

I was considering "lesson #1" but who would honestly search for a vid called that ...

How long? It depends on the size of the video and your upload speed. If a 6sec video took and hour to upload, you either have very slow upload or you tried to upload uncompressed video, like Fraps recording.

Yeah, don't upload the raw file, open it with Windows Movie Maker and 'save movie as'. It takes me like a minute at most to upload a 30 second video.

virtualdub

k-lite full or mega codec pack
http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

Virtualdub is really easy to use. K-lite should contain all codecs you need.

This tutorial may help.

Good luck.

You probably need to import them into WMM rather than opening it. If that doesn't work, do a google search for your extension and find a program that can convert it to something usable.

It took you an hour to upload a 6 second movie lol?
There's something wrong with that considering I upload 1 gig movies to youtube all the time in less than half an hour. 0.o

There's the actual upload (upstream connection speed dependent), and then processing time. The latter has never taken more than a minute or two for me with videos of 1 - 8 minutes in length, although it sometimes hangs (forcing me to refresh/re-upload).

Good luck!

...did you just copy the links from Vtastek's post?

Anyway, I doubt he'd link you to programs that weren't trustworthy.

I have a kodak M893 IS (if that means anything)

also ive just realized my computer doesnt have quick time on it and ive used that to veiw vids ive made on school computers would it be recommendable to attempt to find a quicktime player for download ???

my camaera did come with some sotware for it but it runs in teh background and causes a hell of a lot fo lagg so i havent put it back on since this computer went in for repairs and probably got reformatted

ok the codec page wont show anything here si what i get for "http://www.codecguid...download_kl.htm" Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

What you can try:

If you're copying and pasting the links, that won't work because the forum cuts half the URL out to save space. Just click the links in Vtasteks' post. Don't get quicktime, it's crap, you want VLC player.

I don't know why you couldn't use those links. Well, let me post short versions:
http://tiny.cc/te3t3
http://tiny.cc/6l18s

You should get VLC or quicktime alternative too.

Google is more helping than me, in any case.

first result:

http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/224082-How-to-convert-MOV-files-created-by-a-Kodak-digital-camera

short url version:
http://tiny.cc/fe9le

You should do some research and trial and error yourself.

You uncheck the box. Custom installs always give you an option, but they are tricky sometimes.

For converting YouTube videos I recommend http://handbrake.fr/ to convert to an .mp4/.m4v and http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/ for making clips.

Even if i uncheck the boxes that want me to make yahoo my search bar homepage and get live updates for it there is no check box for teh toolbar which means yahoo toolbar = mandatory!!!

also all i want to do is beable to load my vids from my camera into windows movie maker and then upload to youtube i dont truly care for fine tweaking the vids maybe later in life when i own an actual cam corder what i have is a digital camra with a video recording option (very bad sound quality and cant zoom in too much )
