ZackG's Ultimate Retexture Pack

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:16 pm

I've rebegun work on my retexture pack. This pack is going to expand into a few new models where I feel some of Morrowind's vanila models are just too poor for a retexture to give justice to. This will be esp based (no way around that) and will not follow the normal texture names but will have my own. This is because Im tired of having my Morrowind folders being so confusing and unorganized and I've wanted to organize everything into subfolders anyways, so Ill just be doing in in sync with this. I know not everybody will be pleased with that but I will not be changing it, I apologize in advance. Ive learned enough since last time I started this not to give a release date so do not expect one. Enjoy =-).

The order in which Im retexturing things is literally wherever my character enters first, so far just the Imperial Prison Ship. Here are the screenshots.

Very nice.I like http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj265/zackgwin/WORLD%20RETEX/MGEScreenshot12.jpg one.Though some of the textures from the buildings look like the ground a bit too much.Still very nice.

Amazingly sharplooking and also close to the original style, which I tend to prefer. Are they megahuge as some replacers are nowadays? Anyway, looks great. :mohawk:

They are all about 1024x1024. That is pretty much the norm as far as texture packs go so no, dont worry about this slowing your omputer down anymore than anyother would.

Well I feel bad for you lol. I promise you these new ones will trump the oldies.
Anyways, for today i did a handful of telvanni textures, near all the stronghold textures, all the moss textures that hangs off trees, fixed the dock texture, made a thatch texture, and recolored some west gash stuff.
(In these screenies the telvanni textures werent tiled, theyve seen been done.

So are you aiming to pretty much re-texture everything besides the skies and ice caves?

Haha, well it's a good sign if you hate you own work, it usually means you'll come out with better results each time. I like the dumner fort textures, they really pop out at you.
Looks great so far, they'll definitely 'trump the oldies'. (^_^)

Awesome stuff for morrowind. My oblivion overhaul, in my sig, could learn from these. Of course im only using GIMP to make most of mine so my tools are limited. Nice textures

Thanks guys

Unfortunately this is going on a few days rest. After I sent in my computer to Asus to have the motherboard replaced, they sent it back with windows telling me I had somehow pirated the preinstalled version of Vista...idiots. Now Im sending it back and they are going to fix it, so until then this pack is on a very small, very temporary hiatus.

I've learned over the years to make lots of DVDs of textures, I never know when things will go wrong.

This textures are first rate. I've seen people using the emboss look very well. I don't use filters in photoshop much, But I'd love to know how to do this. :foodndrink:

It isnt emboss, I tend to stay away from filters as well, they always do more bad than good for me. Its done by taking a normal picture, for instance Connarys great work on Tx_MA_Sulfur_rock05
http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj265/zackgwin/Tx_MA_sulphur_rock05.jpg
In image>adjustments, I raised exposure, lowered offest, raised gamma settings, lowered brightness, and raised contrast to get this
http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj265/zackgwin/Tx_MA_sulphur_rock05a.jpg
Some people prefer the former, I like the look this gives me however. The differences in exposure, offset, and gamma lighting works to remove any..idk exactly how to describe it but Id say blur over the picture and it brings out the dark spots. The brightness and contrast work just to expand on that. This is what you were asking about, right?
