Zelda Based Modder Resources and a Wind Waker Mirrorshield M

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 9:44 am

I used to be working on a Zelda based mod for Oblivion, but it kinda died before I had much done. This was also before I was good at scripting so the main thing you guys can scrounge from it are models and a few textures. I'm pretty sure you will all want to get your hands on a 100% fan made and very nice looking model of the mastersword for free use so I thought I'd post these and see what you guys think. Here's a few screenshots of it all. This is also way before I had a decent graphics card and was running on a Radeon 9250 with Oldblivion

The Royal Family Mirrorshield was supposed to have clouds parting on the top corners with a sun in the middle but I never got that done. Just letting you guys know what the design should've been if you wish to finish it.

I was also working on a Wind Waker style Mirrorshield since I absolutely love the game. I have pretty much finished the shield aside from the texture being horrid compared to what I can do now. The shield can be bought at Jensines New and Used Merchandise

Please excuse the Halo Armor. I didn't feel like removing it since i've been testing new things with it all day.

The only things I'm releasing that are textured are the Mastersword(Normal and Dark varients), the Wind Waker Mirrorshield, and PART of the normal maps on the Hylian shield and royal family mirrorshield. Everything else is completely untextured, but will of course need a set of dummy textures before they will appear ingame at all.

Also, GIVE CREDIT!!!!!! GRRRAAAAAWWWWW!!!

Seriously though, give credit or I will be sad :(

Does the Master sword in "Fanmade "Imbued" Master Broadsword" work?

Excellent work. They're beautiful.

On a side note, why does the Fierce Deity armor sport shorts? It didn't in Zelda. It looks a little silly, regardless though, everything is magnificent.

He's right. http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs40/f/2009/021/6/2/Fierce_Deity_Link_by_paranoia_7.jpg That's one of my references I used. It's an official statuette of the Fierce Deity. And about the imbued Mastersword. I was thinking of how in all the zelda games you get better swords and even upgrade your sword. Well this is basically a triforce of courage power infused varient which i call the Imbued Master Broadsword. I never got around to anything where you upgrade into it if that's what you mean by "does it work?". Also, It took a bit of searching but I found where I got the fanart reference for the handle of the Master Broadsword. http://windlordofsuldor.deviantart.com/art/Twilight-Princess-Fierce-Deity-58211404 That's the guy's deviantart link. I found the pic online and just now found the guy that made it.

I just meant 1 does it have texture, and 2 is the model ready for in game use.
The reason I ask is because I like the look of that sword compared to the other.(no offense though they are both great)
I was trying to figure out if I would need to make a texture for it( and by make I mean look really hard for one, since I am not a artist lmao)

Well you'll need to have someone make a texture for it because it doesn't have one and you won't find textures for a fanmade sword anywhere. Also, I just looked in the archive to make sure and it turns out the only version of the imbued mastersword is the 3DS Max file version. I've re-uploaded the archive with a NIF version of the file included. Most of the textures though, I've only included the PSD for them so you'll need to get someone with photoshop to export them as .dds files.

Those are easily the best Zelda related items made for Oblivion. Thanks for making them!

Could you release the Halo armor too? It looks amazing!

For things involving the halo mod take a look here. http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1075715&st=0 If you wish to beta test the mod when i finish replacing all the copyrighted bungie models, sounds, and textures with ones i made myself then I would be happy to let you. As of right now though, I've got nothing to give to the community pertaining to the halo mod.

This picture seems to visibly shows a tunic with stiff armor plating over it, not shorts, to me. Also since they had the ability to model shorts in the game, but they didn't, I think that is as canon, if not more. In any case the armor is incredible, your modelling skills, and attention to detail is impeccable

I had to modify the proportions for it to fit the Oblivion rig and to allow it to bend around the chest area. That's why the armor seems wider and less "stiff" than the statuette. Also, This is a http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh205/Papercraftbucket/Pictures/Afbeelding1-4.png of the n64 model. As you can see it has "shorts". But if by "it doesn't have shorts" you mean to say both leg holes should be connected then I'm not sure if that's how it is or not. I'm pretty sure it is now that I think about it, but because they're behind a piece of armor it's hard to tell and probably won't be noticed by anyone else anyway.

Thanks for the compliments btw. I haven't modelled in a little while, but these models are actually quite old compared to what I can do now. Here's a link of my Wing Gundam model on deviantart if you're intrested. http://chief-01.deviantart.com/art/Wing-Gundam-XXXG-01W-113240454

God those look amazing, and the Master Sword looks so real. It'll blend perfectly with regular Oblivion unlike most other master sword mods..

I'm definitely going to be checking back here from time to time for updates on it! The shield is great too!

Well I'm not going to be posting anything else since I was just posting everything I had. I might work on a hookshot after my haloblivion mod is done, but that'll still be a ways off.

Wow... awesome work there, too bad the project died, but on the other hand thanks for releasing the resources...

I see in the screenshots that the Master Sword was tested in game, but i guess the files weren't included in the Master Sword resources?

Perhaps the Photoshop files need to be converted to DDS? I see there is a NIF file...

Anyway, beautiful work.

I included the NIF's just in case someone didn't have the super extremely expensive 3DS max in order to export. Photoshop is much more easily accessible so I didn't bother flattening the PSD's, though it would probably be helpful for those without it to have them. I think someone should flatten them into dds's, but I've not got the time to.

does the windwaker shield just start in your inventory or is there a spot where it's placed?

Read the first post all the way through before asking anything.

Whoops, that's my bad. I forgot to change the texture in the model. I usually work with my program files on my e: drive rather than my c drive and that is what's causing the problem. I've re-uploaded it for you. Sorry about that.
