Jessica Folsom (Zenimax community manager) announced last year that September beta testers were getting an in-game monkey pet as a reward.

It was then said that January and earlier testers would get this bonus as well, but no one could confirm it because the post was locked away in the beta forums.

Do the February beta testers get the in-game monkey pet as well?

is the monkey pet EXCLUSIVE, as in, it cannot be obtained anywhere else?

This question came up in the beta forums numerous times. Could someone from Zenimax please clarify this once and for all?

If I answered and told you that they decided to give it to all testers, would you believe me or try to make me cite sources?

Also, would people complain that this was some sort of barrier to content?

yes however i dont think the feb testers should get it since they let everyone in pretty much. however if they do it wont be that big of a deal, just diminish the pet over all

Like I said, many on the beta forums were asking the same thing.

I guess I don't see the problem myself if it isn't throwing feces at players in PvP

Doesn't have to be a monkey pet, but a reward for people that truly put time into the beta, reporting bugs ect.

Why can't experiencing the game and getting a head start in knowledge be enough? Do we really need to get things for playing a game?

They talked about the monkey on facebook. I hardly think this constitutes some NDA breach.

Monkeys come in different colors? I am pretty sure there are white monkeys black monkeys yellow monkeys and even red monkeys there may even be more monkeys shoot use a 256 color palette and u got tons of monkeys so now you can monkey around with all your monkeys

but if your gonna give us tons of pets please give us a pet window to store them all in? thank you I would hate to have no room in my bags for crafting materials because I have 50 pets in my bags,,,

judging by all the commentaries here I guess there is some semblence of truth to this monkey business but I am sure if its an issue they can just give testers from different months different monkeys heh how hard can it be to recolor a monkey? and if someone beta tested all weekends they get a Baboon

I'd happily swap my pre-order pet whatever it was for a monkey. At least a monkey is a semi realistic sort of pet (if a really, really bad one).
