Zodiac signs have changed

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 5:03 pm

Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 - Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17 - Jan. 20

I can double up on Sagittarius, or take a split.

It seems that in every Leo horoscope, the opportunity to have six with/ get a job from/ befriend something is missed, but that soon after the opportunity to have six with/ get a job from/ befriend something will arise from an unexpected source.

Leo: revolving door of the astrological signs.

Leo: revolving door of the astrological signs.

Sounds like my life. Up and down and up and down. A vertical revolving door.

A turbine.

So now I'm supposed to be a Cancer, huh? I was born a Leo and I'll stay a Leo.

Where's my Sparta emoticon when I need it. :stare:

I'm a Virgo now. Screw that. Libra sounded so much cooler and more awesome.

Whatever, it isn't like I actually care.

It was cancelled in 2007.

I know that... Anyway, I was wrong, it's not about constellations like s-g, but zodiak signs...

Here's the way I see it.
If you were born before the Zodiac signs changed, you are still that sign. The differences only apply to people born after the constellation shift.
I may be misinterpreting what the article meant, of course, but eenh.
Not really one for Astrology anyway but if you try to take away my status as a double Scorpio I'll kill you ?_?.

Yeah, unless you're a couple of hundred years old, I don't think you're still the old sign.

Oh ho ho, my friend, didn't you know?
I am, in fact, a couple of hundred years old. I sustain my unnatural youth and devilish good looks through the most secret of magical rituals.
I won't go into the details, but it involves a neon-pink shooka mouse, reciting the entirety of The Iliad backwards while balancing on one foot, and covering your face in Post-It notes.
Try it! :tops:

WTF.

There is a copy of The Illiad on my desk right now, with a post it note pad sitting on top of it, WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?

Ah, but do you have the shooka mouse?
See, without the shooka mouse it all falls apart. You'd probably wind up with a tree growing out of your head. If you were lucky.

So, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/13/new-zodiac-sign-dates-oph_n_808567.html#s223863&title=kristin_leigh.

Zodiac signs did not recently change. Solar system moves through the galaxy and the zodiac signs are constantly (but at an extremely minute rate) changing. It's just that someone recently decided that it would be fun to calculate how much the zodiac signs have changed since they were first "invented", but they've been more or less like they are now for hundreds of years and will be for hundreds of years to come.

Wait, so when you made this thread you thought we were all going to have to make huge changes, like when Thatcher redrew the county boundaries?

I thought you were posting it sarcastically...

I am more amazed that he seems to actually have thought that they remained unchanged for all these thousands of years and that they changed only recently. :-/

If this is even true, I'm a Virgo now. Formerly Libra. Due to the associations of Libra, can't say I'm too upset. I need a new stone now though. I have got to tell my friend, she absolutely believes in Astrology as truth, and has the Pisces symbol tattoed on her neck. She anolyses ALL her relationships with people in relation to start signs (for example she gets on well with someone at work because he is a Pisces also- she was telling me this yesterday.) I feel bad for her, this is going to make her pretty angry.

I wonder how true it all is however...

You're just now stuck with a really lame sounding sign.
Couldn't they have come up with something a little cooler? How do you even pronounce that??

oh-FI-uh-KUS

I love reading some of the comments on twitter, facebook and other places from people who believe in this, and the way that they can instantly come up with a justification with no basis on reality.

There was one that said that ophiuchus was only made a constellation in 2009. Hmmm, for one, how does something get "made" a constellation, for two, how the hell did Ptolemy describe it in classical Greece?

The reality of it, is, the reason you have an astrologic-al chart done, is the planetary shifts that occur naturally all effect your astrologic-al design. The reason that you don't simply base things on your sun sign, is because alone, it would be inaccurate-.
Sun, Moon and Ascendant are all critical in astrologic-al make-up. True astrologer-s don't develop a chart based on the sun sign alone.
Zodiac signs are ultimately a mute point. Some whack job can label and re-label them all they want. The sun sign is only a part of the shift. And the Sun sign you were born under, doesn't change. It's past. It's over. It's done with. You can't retro-acti-vely change it.

I mean come on, this is pure gold.

I was a Taurus, now I am an Aries.

Owell. Darn, I kind of got fond of the bull.

I'm not cautious anymore, now I'm outgoing.....so says one of the many zodiac readings online.

Meh. I'm glad I don't pay alot of attention to this.
