Zombie Apocalypse RP idea

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:34 pm

Good point. Assuming their nightime only, then I'd reccomend that caves, sewers, and other underground areas become a lot more dangerous, making it harder to travel underground during the day.

Right. During the day, zombies would have to take shelter anywhere they can, which includes caves, sewers, basemants, etc.

EDIT: I'm turning in for the night. I'll be back tomorrow around 3:30pm.

There has been one of these before, it was pretty interesting but died pretty quickly. I like your plot though, gives it all an explanation. If I were you, I'd leave this as a discussion thread for a couple of days then get a proper one going in a day or two, because this is getting quite cluttered already.

I might join this, though I'll be going lone wolf for a while like I did with the other roleplay. If you want I can dig it up for you to have a look :)

Fast zombies, man. Fast zombies. If you want people to be challenged, throw fast zombies into the mix.

I understand why you think this should be, but I wanted to leave a space for the characters to develop, talk, sleep, etc. I especially wanted to leave room for character development.

I agree. Constant bombardment from agonizingly slow corpus beasts could grow monotonous after a short while. This way, it gives us time to get to know each other a little better.

And another thing, fast "zombies" is too inaccurate. We all know corpus beasts as we've seen them in-game. Unless someone can prove otherwise, I say we stick to lore. This doesn't mean we can't create different strands of the virus, just that making the corpus beasts something they're not is too over-rated. I've only liked "fast zombies" in movies. I guess it's up to Forest though.

Edit:

@Forest:
But that doesn't mean a new strand of the divine disease is completely out of the question, right? And also, when a strong Dunmer falls victim to the disease, aren't they usually turned into ascended sleepers? Not that they have to have Dagoth's dreams t o be turned, but perhaps the occasional ascended sleeper or ash vampire could put a little flavor into the mix. Like the juggernauts in Silent Hill... yeesh...

Well, I suspose that fast zombies would need a good explanation. I would hate to have a cliche "Oh look, a new strain of Corpus that was made overnight! Watch out, Joe! It's gonna pounce on you and rip your face off!"

Yea... But I guess it would be pretty fun to see 'Joe' get ran down by the triathalon version of a corpus beast.

I suppose we could have a few fast zombies here and there. But remember that about 70% of the horde will not be able to move as fast as normal human beings, due to their extensive bone and muscle decay. About 26% would be the "fast" zombies, who have recently contracted the disease and therefore their muscles will not have decayed yet.

The other 4% would be made up of "special" zombies. Those that were particularly strong or magically powerful in their life make up this group. Some in this group will be incredibly strong and fast, and some will be able to cast spells. Even fewer in this group are those that had incredible willpower in their life, and now retains some of their mind, able to carry out complex thought processes. They may also be able to command the other zombies through spells, etc.

I guess we could thow in the very occasional ascended sleeper as well.

EDIT: again, who the hell voted "No, I think this svcks" and then didn't post explaining it?

It's alright forrest. You've got more than enough members joining. Let's focus on the presentation part. How will you present the rp? Can we see the character sheet and rules now, so you can just copy and paste during the official thread? And so we now how descriptive we need to be. (I imagine pretty much so.)

I know some RP hosts are anol about this, so I'll ask ahead of time: Can I use my own sheet format as long as everything in yours is included? I won't get pissy if you say no, I'll just have to adjust the sheet.

Anyway, I can be on here almost every day (or night if I'm busy in day). And I'll let you guys know if I'm gonna be off if I have something planned.

I could join. I need to think on a char.

A couple of questions to consider: do corprus beasts still have souls? As in soultrapping?
What happens when a powerful mage is infected? What kind of a corprus beast would become of that?
Argonians and Khajiit. Their physiology is considerably different than tha of humans. What happens with them?
How does the infestation spread? By touch or through air? Is anyone immune or just gets infected harder?
Do you plan to include the Nerevarine into this? Afterall, he/she is the only one officially immune to corprus. Could someone (like me, for instance :D ) play the Nerevarine?

How do you plan to make a story? Will there be a quest to get to Divayth Fyr and find his cure or something else? You could work on a story of stopping the plague first, then you could do the counter-attack, looking for Fyr or something.

As said above, certain powerful mages, depending on which colleges they were skilled in, would be given the ability to either cast spells, control other corpus beasts, or have some part of their medula left uninfected. Meaning they might be able to cope, adjust, or even out-smart us players.
Of course the infection would probably spread via wound, saliva, or contsant contact with someone wounded.(ie eating after somone who's been infected or touching the an open wound then eating)
In lore(I believe), the Nerevarine left Tamriel for Akavir, but of course his inclusion is entirely up to Forrest. And the story I'm sure won't be revealled openly to us, so as to keep us surprised.

Also, we need to keep in mind that most of our characters who've never ventured into Morrowind, should have little to no experience dealing with corpus beasts. I'd be a bit of a buzz-kill to see 'ol Joe ousting beast after beast cause he know's where the "sweet spot" is.

@forrest:
Should we also add where our characters are in the rp? Or do you want us to start out in a general area? And will there be infected animals?(Horses,dogs, cougars, etc...)

No one-liners? In a zombie apocalypse? Inconceivable!

The sweet spot is a nice fireball to the face. :hehe:

That is a good question though. I assumed we were trying for maximum character interaction, so should be all be in the same general area to start?

I think animals would be neat but thats completely up to forrest.

I think you should describe where you start out in your first IC post. But if you want, you could add it to your character sheet. Just make sure you start in or right outside Cheydinhal.

Infected animals would be awesome. I'm glad you came up with that idea, thanks Dren. So yes, there will be infected animals.

@Aulakauss: Its fine if you deviate from the char sheet, I really don't mind.

I call Joe as my character's name. A nickname, that is. I'm gonna make Johann the Judgmental, or some other name.

Yay, my good friends joining... Excellent.

@gentlemen:
Yea, I was using ol Joe for explanation...haha

@Forrest:
I agree, I'm in the middle of a move so that sounds good. (From Colorado back to West Virginia)
So this gives me time to devise a sinister character sheet with a wicked background. Cheydinal?? Sounds good... I think we've got a zombie hunt rp on our hands! Well, I'm about to hop in the car and sleep for 23 hours. Later guys...
