zombie RP

Post » Wed Oct 27, 2010 9:01 pm

There should to be a variety of zombies, not just the average man-beater. Like behemoth zombies, made of hundreds of corpses, something like that.

Not that easy. Then the OP writer would have to re-write the entire OP so that there is a reason for it and that it fits with the storyline. That could easily change the whole course of the RP and how it'd turn out.

That is exactly what I was looking for. Zombie RPs are just too bland to me now

Same here.

We need a challenge guys. So far the team we have put together could rather easily survive whatever they throw at us. Until we run out of ammo and whatnot.

A gigantic Behemoth sized Zombie seems outrageous. However, part of the story could involve something with the FEV, some kind new strain which is spread through bite. And because of that FEV, we could have regular Super Mutant sized Zombies in the mix, maybe 10% of the zombies around, now they are already about twice the size of a human being. They would clearly be harder to kill, and perhaps even more intelligent than the other zombies, but I don't think we need to go any bigger than that. We're already going to be heavily outnumbered in most any engagement.

See? These new ideas add color to the monotonistic zombie RP, I say continue with the ideas, arguements and whatnot. If this keeps up we can go down as zombie RP LEGENDS!!!

*cough* Or... you know... just make a really cool RP...

I love it. They'd be like the fast, able to climb and give better chase zombies. That'd be freaky.

Unfortunately I have no real good ideas beyond zombie dogs. So I'll leave that to you guys.

Just copy the Left 4 Dead zombies. Not to a 'T' of course, but their prime characteristics. I'd join. B)

Yea, there you go.

I say everything that is a mammal carries the virus (everything except Reptiles, Birds, Insects, etc.) That way, we have rat zombies chasing us!

Sorry guys. I'll have time to do the OP tomorrow for sure, 4 hours in fact. It should be done then. Then we can actually start up the RP. Meanwhile, I need someone to gather everyone's character sheet (WITH THE CODES, so that the links are NOT broken), and post it here, that way we can put people's sheets in the OP. If any of you want to volunteer, go ahead.

Also, I do say we use the L4D stuff. A tank isn't going to be so hard to kill, and neither is anything else.

Of course, everything is easy to kill when you have a machete: http://loot-ninja.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/Goreison-500x375.jpg

Also, don't forget the bullet proof police SWAT zombie:

O.o Geez, i don't remember the Fanfic forum being so active. When I was on it, it barely got any attention, so I just went back to The Flood. I'll have to check here alot more often if i want to keep up and be in the RP lol.

Just because we're letting something completely fun and entertaining influence the Rp doesn't mean that we're completely losing all sense of creativity.

I agree.

Happy Xivilai, we're trying to add variety to the zombies we want. When it comes down to it, L4D did the best job with actually making zombies interesting with variety. There isn't a whole lot else we can do. If you want more creative zombies, be my guest and come up with a few.

If you go way back in this thread and read it all the way up to this point you see all the creativity that has conspired, just because you dont like the choices we make then come up with your own with the help of the ideas of the people on this thread.

just a thought since i don't seem to be contributing much in the ways of ideas. If any of you have played Resident Evil 4, maybe something like the kind of zombie that certain weak points would be a good idea. The rest of the body would be susceptible to damage, but it wouldn't necessarily hurt it. It could maybe re-generate lost parts if not hit in the weak spots, like it did, or it could not. The weak spot could or couldn't be externally exposed.

idk, I just feel a little useless here, seeing as how I'm new, so i thought i'd help.

That's what I've been thinking. The bodies of the zombies should be somewhat resilient to damage. Whilst damage taken to the body will still have an effect, the effect should be minimal. In other words, if you're aiming to kill a shuffler with body shots, be prepared to lower your ammo count. However, the heads of the zombies should be extremely vulnerable to damage. If you unload a single bullet into the brain of a zombie, they should be either dead, or disabled. I'm sure we'll be able to balance this kill factor out by the density of the zombie hordes, and also by the sheer difficulty of a headshot in a high pressure situation. This way, you can still take 'em out with body shots, but you'd be wise to aim for the head. I'll be sending my character sheet to you soon Jonas.

Sent it to Jonas, and now it's here.

--------------------------------

Name: Alex Sykes
Nickname: Just Alex.
Age: 24
Race: Human, Caucasian.
Gender: Male

Hair color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Very light blue, resembling those of a husky (Although there almost always concealed by his aviators).
Skin Tone: Light tan.

Appearance: Alex is a slender guy, standing at about 6 feet tall. He's built athletically, although not bodybuilder-esque. His hair is straight and medium length, grown to about half way down his neck. His face is clear and clean shaven, with his facial features deeming him an attractive male. He has a small horizontal scar about an inch and a half beneath his right eye, that is about two centimeters long. On the front of his neck, Alex has a tattoo of an owl with it's wings spread, covering nearly the entire front of his neck.

Skills:

- Dexterity: Alex is very proficient and accurate with handguns. He'd been amused with them since he was a child. Such a small thing that can end one's life with a squeeze of the trigger. He'd used pistols as his primary weapons for nearly every journey he'd embark upon, and with each shot he became more and more skilled and precise. If you hand Alex an M9 and lead him into a battlefield, you're in for some high quality entertainment. That is, if you consider a bloody mess and brains splattered against the concrete, 'entertainment'.

-Agility: From the day Alex was old enough to run, that's about all he did. Running provided Alex with an adrenaline rush that could fuel his entire day. All day, he'd run, jump and dive across rooftops just to challenge himself. He found satisfaction like no other in free-running and parkour, and he did it nearly every day. To this day he still does, maybe more than ever. Having perfected this very useful skill, and turning it into a hobby, had definitely benefited Alex through his many journeys. This hobby is just one extra skill that gives Alex the upper hand on his opponents.

Clothing:
- A black and white plaid button-up flannel shirt, with the sleeves usually rolled halfway up his forearms. http://yfrog.com/17flannelblackwhitej
- A pair of black, faded skinny jeans. http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/9697/superslimfit.png
- A pair of grey, tattered Chuck Taylor's converse.
- A black band around his left wrist.
- A pair of Aviators. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_s-Ai1HXfg68/SPip7BZdJJI/AAAAAAAAAOE/GgG2sIIalkg/s1600/800px-RayBanAviator.jpg

Weapons:
- Two M9 Berettas. http://xbradtc.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/m9-pistolet.jpg
- A crowbar.

Personality: Alex is a friendly guy, welcoming new friends with open arms, whilst still staying cautious of who he puts his trust in. He can rarely be taken seriously, as he's almost always joking around and trying to lighten the mood. Alex values friendship over most everything, and stays true to his word no matter the cost. He's definitely a good friend to have in any situation.

Bio: Alex was raised in the Capitol Wasteland by his father alone. His mother had left when he was very young, as she wasn't mature, sensible or responsible enough to care for a child. However, his father was a whole different story. His father, Mark, loved Alex more than anything in the world, and raised him as best as any other truly caring father would. As Alex grew older, his relationship with his father grew stronger. He and his father held a bond that couldn't be broken.

As soon as Alex was old enough to fight, he tagged along with father on every trip he took, and as Alex matured, the two were the best of friends, and had so much in common that they'd always have something to talk about on their journeys together. However, this all changed in one night.

Alex and his father had been trekking to a certain location to grab some equipment, when a high-pitched beeping subtly echoed through the nighttime air, followed by a horrifying explosion that tore Alex's father to pieces. Alex was left with a small scar beneath his right eye from the shrapnel of the explosion, and a mental scar that would never heal.

5 years later, Alex decided to leave the horrors of the Capitol Wastes behind, and hitched a ride on a boat to Manhattan. He had no idea what he was getting himself into.

Here you go, Jonas posted this a few pages back.

---------------------------------

Name:
Nickname:
Age:
Race: (I'd prefer humans, but ghouls are fine)
Gender:

Hair color:
Eye Color:
Skin Tone:

Appearance: (Be descriptive, in every RP I've made I've tried drilling this into your skulls but it never seems to take. Scars, tattoos, physical build, all that stuff goes here.)

Skills: (Also be descriptive, WHY is he a good marksman?)

Clothing: (Anything goes)
Armor: (NO POWER ARMOR or anything of the same magnitude)

Weapons: (No major stuff like rocket launchers, mini-guns, laser or plasma weapons. We're all average dudes here, we don't have serious access to that stuff... yet. And you don't have to choose stuff from the Fallout games.)

Personality: (How are you with others? Any phobias? Any mental weakness or strengths? All goes here.)

Bio: (You've all done this before. Make it good, but I want no novels. And you know, your whole family didn't have to die in a Mutant attack, and you don't HAVE to be searching for long lost Lucy Who. You also don't have to be the badass slaver who can take a fly's wings off with a single bullet from a mile away without killing it.)
