Zombies Mode

I didn't know that Skyrim is a Generic FPS that needs a cheap gimmick to sell copies. Oh wait it's not.

The Dash avatar is perfect for that post - her expression is just right.

To the subject - first, it pleases me immensely that in spite of the obvious bias applied to the choices, "No" is still the runaway favorite. It doesn't even matter much what the subject is - any time a poster creates an obviously biased poll, I like to see the answer he favors get trounced.

Beyond that - zombies already exist in the TES universe and they have a specific place in it. Zombie-ism (I guess?) isn't transmitted by a disease. Zombies are created when necromancers reanimate corpses (or when conjurers conjure them, though those zombies, like all other conjures, aren't really real). So within the existing framework of TES, the only way the PC could become a zombie would be to be killed, then reanimated by a necromancer.

There's another type of "zombie" already in the TES universe - the draugr - and they're set to reappear in Skyrim (they were introduced in the Bloodmoon expansion to Morrowind). However, they too become "zombies" by some process other than disease - in their case, they're cannibals who were cursed by the All-Maker. So, again, it's not really something that's available to the PC.

It would certainly be possible to insert some entirely different thing into the game that resembles zombie-ism, and make it transmitted by a disease, but honestly that seems like a deliberate contrivance meant solely to satisfy the relatively small if disproportionately vocal fans of all things zombie, and I see no point at all in bogging down the game with that. It's the sort of thing best left to modders.

Geez, you sure know a lot about zombie's! Did you learn all that at ITT tech? j/k ;)

NO! NEVER! Well unless it's a daedric quest for Boethiah. He likes death... and killing stuff.... But in any other things (that aren't a mod of course) NO!

You only need one game mode for a TES game. You can easily accomplish having a house where zombies attack relentlessly through mods and have it have a real story and real roleplaying potential and things like that.

Plus, too many games have a "zombie mode." It's getting very cliche at this point.

When I want to mow down lots of zombies, I'll play Endless Zombie Rampage.

Additionally.... I think waves of zombies work better in action-style games where you can quickly kill many things. i.e, NOT a TES game, where you tend to need a number of swings to take down a single opponent.

edit: also, didn't answer your biased poll. Stop sticking silly editorial crap like "I don't like fun or options" on choices.

Pleased to see the number of negative votes. I hate zombie games and wish the fad would pass already.

Well, I mostly just don't like options or fun. It's not that I'm opposed to zombies, it's just that I really hate joy and happiness and Christmas.

Why do people like killing zombies so much? We need a new game where we can be a zombie and eat people and devour their brains and entrails...oh wait, Arquen did that and she wasn't a zombie.

Hmm, a funny poll you created. Looks like I don't like options, nor I like fun... Hmmmm

I'll say no just because of the eventual comparison it would draw between Skryim and COD. That being said, I wouldn't mind some 'bonus modes' that weren't involved within the continuity of the game. This is where they could include a horde mode or whatever. Maybe even arena fighting online. But it would have to take place outside of the actual game! The only other thing is that fighting in Oblivion wasn't terribly fun, especially when there were multiple enemies. If there were many many zombies or whatever it would come down to area affect spells or you getting overwhelmed. Any idea if you can strike more than one enemy at a time with a sword?

Aside from it being a very bad idea for TES' fan base I don't want to see TES turn into a game all about mini games. With all of these CoD ideas popping up TES would lose everything it has going for it in terms of being unique and well... fun.

Well, given that half the thread responses are "boooo, this poll is biased", and given that the poll maker wasn't really that interested in getting a range of answers, just ones that were either "hellz yeah!" or "I don't like fun", I am going to close this.

For many of you that posted - if you look at a poll and have no interest in it, or find it biased, you could, you know, not post, not respond and/or hit the report button.
