Zomg how am going to kill that...

Post » Mon Mar 21, 2011 1:05 pm

Seeing that Bethesda have made skyrim so that there are large creatures making for a different fight.
Wouldn't it be cool if there was a large cave/ ruin like say the halls of moria in lotr in one of the highest mountains in skyrim where there is a huge demon maybe a icedemon that roams about it would be the highest leveled creature in the game and it dosent level scale ( before you enter cave yiu get a warning)and it would have no quest it would take the highest and most well built character in the game with the best armour and weapon to kill it and even then it would be near impossible, when you manage to kill it if you are the few to do so you receive a key which opens a chest containing a lot of money and an orb that when activated turns in to a weapon of choice say a staff, short sword, bow etc and can't be changed back, the weapon would be the most powerful in the game.

Just imagine those vids on YouTube "Zomg I killed it" or " the ultimate guide to killing..." and think of how satisfied you would feel after it falls and it will give skyrim so much more replay value as you will keep playing to get your levels maxed and collecting those vitals need to kill it and maybe you could have an adoring fan only obtained by killing it( he/ she could be in the chest lol).
What do you think is there anything else that would go along with is feature or is I boloney?
Ps sorry for the bad spelling I'm on the iPod and I can't scroll up to check it lol and its very easy to hit he wrong letter and I can't even add a poll:(.

Maybe, only if it's relevant to the whole game. I mean, it's pretty useless creating a nearly-indestructable monster in a huge cave, if it serves no purpose.

If you put in a big beast, it must be important to the story somehow, or some important guild.

It's there to guard the best weapon in the game and prevents any easy way of getting the best weapon.
Maybe you can hear people in the cities talking about a romour of a large demon.

Meh.... why would an ice demon have an orb that turns into the player's weapon of choice?

If anything Alduin should be like that, and then you could have a demon in a cave that is very powerful but not as powerfully as Alduin considering he is the main threat of Skyrim. I think that would be awesome.

Amusing, but if the weapon is up to the trait, it would ruin the game after obtaining.

yeah, I think that would be rather cool actually. Though if you try to make it impossible to kill many will complain and still more will simply turn the difficulty down all the way and kill it with 10 hits. And it does not necessarily have to be central to the story, it could be as central to the story as the behemoth was in FO3.

I really like the concept, and established Elder Scrolls lore hardly precludes a massively powerful unique monster inhabiting some out-of-the-way part of Skyrim.

What if no ones ever seen it before and has been in the throat of the world for millions of years?

Don't cry :)

Did you play Shivering Isles? In one quest there, the reward would be either a sword or an axe, depending on which skill the player was more proficient in. I guess they could do the same here -- when you open the chest, the weapon of choice has already been decided for you, based on your previous actions.

Did no one here never feel in oblivion that it was easy to kill every creature and you didn't feel satisfied after a kill, I always wanted a creature that you could only kill when the highest level and took ages to prepare for.
Like in oblivion it seemed you could kill any thing no matter what level.

Idk about you guys, but i intend on taking every single big creature, with my bare hands, not sure about big bad monsters in caves though, isn't that a bit of a cliché? then again i guess cliché are just in every gaming aspect.

It's not about the weapon >:(
Sorry ):D I just want to feel epic and statified like wow I just finaling killed it and have braving rights, if anyone here has played runesape it would be like getting the lava cape after killing that lvl 650 lava thingy can't really remember lol.It would give you a goal to work to awards when you have completed all quests and all and want to get your levels maxes.

Sorry if my post caused any confusion; I was agreeing with you that there are lots of cool ways this idea could be added to the game without breaking the lore. :)

Perhaps there could be a series of monster challenges like this, with the more dangerous/final creature not being revealed till after the lesser one is slain (Beowulf thought his work was done when he tore off Grendel's arm, after all)...

I love stuff like this in other games. Not related to the main quest and uber hard but yielding awesome loot. Since there's going to be crafting in the game, perhaps the 'demon' would produce an ultra rare component that would be necessary to making a super powerful weapon. Perhaps there would be some book or folk tale in a nearby village that would elude to the monster but doesn't give a proper quest. I'd be down for that.

Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul kinda had stuff like this and it was more fun and rewarding than anything in vanilla.

Perhaps you fall down a crevice in a glacier and the only way out is through the creature's labyrinthine lair?

he could be kinda like Demogorgon is in Baldur's gate 2: Throne of Bhaal. The toughest monster in the series, and the boss of a very long and all in all great dungeon, but not actually related to the mainplot in anyway.
